Today is a beautiful day! Not because of the sunshine or my feelings of joy or any physical beauty I may think I have.
It is beautiful because God made it especially for me!
My coffee is hot and my Bible is calling. I see God as I look out my window and catch a glimpse of a Red necked hummingbird on my sunflower. The puffy white clouds stand out against the bright blue sky and remind me of cotton candy.
If I’m not careful I’ll miss the joy that greets me in the mornings because the messy kitchen and piles of laundry seem to be screaming at me to pay attention to them.
I promise to get to those mundane duties at some point today. But first I must set my mind on positive things. Things that are good and lovely.
The messy will always be there. It’s not going to get up and go. But the little things I see out my window will soon pass and I must not miss them! Catching a fleeting moment or two of simple loveliness is important to my wellbeing. Soaking it in and thanking God for another day to let Him love me is how I like to start my mornings. Now I can sit down with my Bible and coffee and let God speak to my heart just as He did through my window.
